Summer season 2026 is officially wrapped up
and all of your contributions helped make Nym better everyday.
Twelve translation languages, four community management teams, a wave of new tools built on the mixnet, workshops and talks across Ecuador, Mexico and Brazil, and the close of the Nymster Referrals program. A big thank you to every nymster who showed up this summer.

Squad Wealth Fund update
What is the Squad Wealth Fund?
The Squad Wealth Fund (SWF) is the community treasury. Every season it is replenished through the Nym Delegations Program and allocated to community missions, development, events and operations.
- NYM tokens are delegated to mix nodes
- Rewards are collected and added to the SWF
- Grants and bounties are distributed to contributors
- A seasonal report like this one is generated
511,806 NYM came in over Summer 2026 through the Nym delegations program, about 3.6% a year on the fund’s stake.
Spending by category
Spending came to 984,235 NYM across 93 contributions this season. Translation work was by far the biggest category at 716,635 NYM, nearly three quarters of the total, followed by node mentorship and community management.
| Category (mission) | NYM |
|---|---|
| Nym Translation Tasks | 716,635 |
| Nym Node Mentorship | 60,000 |
| Decentralized CM | 60,000 |
| Nym Meetup | 46,500 |
| Build with Nym | 35,500 |
| NymVPN Referral Program | 21,600 |
| NymSTAR award | 17,500 |
| Covert mission | 16,000 |
| NSL Showrunners | 8,000 |
| Miscellaneous | 2,500 |
| Total | 984,235 |
Total SWF Reserves: 5,708,184 $NYM
Rewards outpaced income this season, a net draw of 472,429 NYM on the fund. The SWF held 5,708,184 NYM at the season’s end, before September’s rewards are paid out.
From this season the fund’s figures are read straight from the Nyx blockchain. The Spring post estimated the reserve at 7,206,932 NYM; the on-chain figure after Spring’s rewards was 5,860,808 NYM.
Some contributions this season
Summer 2026 brought 93 contributions from 34 contributors, with 984,235 NYM distributed in total: 336,880 NYM in July, 410,549 NYM in August and 236,806 NYM at the season close.
Two corrections to the monthly updates: July was 336,880 NYM across 21 contributions (the July post left the 10,000 NYM Russian influencer partnerships row out of its total), and August had 24 contributions, with @0xNymja’s August meetup being Blockchain Rio, Brazil rather than ZCon7.
This season included:
- translation work across twelve languages: Arabic, Bengali, Chinese, French, Indonesian, Italian, Persian, Portuguese (BR), Russian, Spanish, Turkish and Ukrainian
- community management in Ukrainian, Portuguese, Spanish and Russian, every month of the season
- new tools built on Nym: NymX, NymQR, NymX Mail and NymWeb, Tokumai, the NYMM timing lab, and mixnet integrations for Bitcoin, Zcash, Monero and Nostr
- workshops, lectures, a podcast and meetups across Ecuador, Mexico and Brazil, plus an online NymVPN talk for the NicaSecurity community
- continued support for node operators through the mentorship program
- the final stretch of Nymster Referrals, which closed on 5 September
Highlights
Translations carried the season
Twelve languages and 716,635 NYM of translation work. @0xNymja led with Portuguese (BR), @melisaly kept Turkish moving across all three months, and @skylersong, @Beyond, @Sajad.Mazhari and @Ferdooo each earned more than 70,000 NYM in translation rewards.
A wave of builders on the mixnet
@apeir shipped four integrations in a week, routing Bitcoin broadcasts, Zcash wallet sync, Monero node RPC and Nostr relays through the mixnet. @ch1ffr3punk kept shipping all season with NymX, NymQR, NymX Mail and NymWeb, @Wunderbaer turned ScrambleAI into Tokumai, and @MightyCricket53 built a lab for timing clearnet against mix-fetch.
BWNym squad on the ground in Ecuador
@rocio.gonzalez.toral and BWNym squad ran workshops on digital safety and deepfakes (one with a live NymVPN demo), two university talks, a live podcast interview and eleven episodes of the Spanish community call El rincón de la Privacidad, alongside Spanish community management and node mentorship. Some of this work dates back to spring and is rewarded here.
NymSTAR Awards
This season’s NymSTAR recipients were:
- @code-zm for July 2026
