this might not be perfectly fitted for Nym Squad league but I would like to pre-announce a release of a new app fully built on the NYM mixnet which I am currently finishing for a beta release. The app has been thoroughly tested over the last couple of weeks and is finally ready for a open beta test. Due to the nature of the app this includes real payments on the provider side (my end) and I have to take precautions to protect my real-world funds against possible bugs.
This said I will run the first iteration of the beta test as a closed beta with a selected group of max. 5-10 individuals and fund their wallets with a certain amount of real credits from my personal funds to test the service. This is what I am looking for:
NYM end users (power users or professionals) who want to try (and break) my app and are willing to provide feedback (errors, crashes, UX/UI feedback, etc)
Supported plattforms: MacOS (silicon), Linux (x86) and Windows only. Due to the appstore gatekeeping I am currently unable to provide builds for iOS or Android although iOS is done and working fine. Due to a lack of the necessary hardware I only cross-compile Linux and Windows and therefore provide these binaries untested. Therefore your feedback is even more valuable!
If this sounds like you please respond to this thread with your user name on the nym matrix channel so I can reach out to you with instructions and your invitation code needed to redeem your real credits.
Phase 1: Register interest in the forum
Phase 2: Receive your onboarding instructions and invite code to redeem your real-money-balance
Phase 3: Test th s**t out of the app and provide feedback
Phase 4: Public beta
Phase 5: Public release
Roadmap:
Federated server operations (onboarding NYM gateway operators)
Disclaimer: All client apps will be provided as compiled binaries and the source code is closed source for now. Please only respond if you understand and comply with this.
Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any further questions,
we submitted our official iOS testflight approval today and waiting for the feedback. As soon as this is done we will be able to provide official Appstore Testflight invitations to interested individuals! Stay tuned…
Furthermore an apk for Android has been released ready to be installed on your Android devices. You can find all relevant download links and instructions here:
If you need an invite link for 1$ of free credits, let me know…
happy to hear you like the idea! it’s currently closed source due to its nature of probably becoming a commercial app - hence I need to protect myself from copy cats for now. I will release audit reports though to (partially) make up for this. plus this will go through appstore/playstore review which also gives some level of code safety.
I know this is a thin line to walk and I would love to make it open source - but this is only an option once we reach a certain level of users to make sure a copy cat wouldn’t automatically drain all my customers…
I am also thinking about other ways to prove it’s legit code. I could probably release the server side code as open source once we start onboarding gateway operators for the scrai-server operation. In all honesty this will take some time to properly design server federation, load balancing, quorum on credit redemption, etc but will be necessary once the client base grows into the tens of thousands
ScrambleAI in its current state is model agnostic. As long as an api can be called and the provider terms allow rerouting of api calls we can plug it in as a “model connector”. We are currently serving frontier models for Gemini (text-to-text) and NanoBanana (text-to-image) in the current release. Grok is also confirmed working but I removed it as it has not much benefit over Gemini and I heavily disrespect Elon and everything he does… Plus I wanted to focus on making the app work correctly before spending too much time with other models. Again, the app is built in a way new models can easily be plugged in.#
And I totally get your point about open source, it’s just not the right way for us at this stage tbh
