Charlotte Privacy Meetup - Tip Top Daily Market

Overview:
On January 16th, 2026, WebWipe hosted a Privacy meetup event at Tip Top Daily Market in Charlotte, NC. This is the 1st privacy event WebWipe’s done for 2026, and the first event we’re collab’ing with them in 2026. ~30 attendees showed up for the event. Zano and Edge Wallet sponsored the event
Event Highlights
The event went from 6-9 pm. Tip Top Daily Market is a cool venue. It’s actually a local grocery store that has a bar and separate room with a projector and A/V setup. The folks at Tip Top Daily Market were extremely accommodating for our meetup. We had the venue recommended to us by the BTC Charlotte folks (who are also extremely warm and accommodating). People started arriving around 6 pm and presentations began at 6:45 pm. There were Nym stickers and 1-month NymVPN promos for interested attendees. About 20% of attendees walked away with Nym free trials. There was interest amongst the attendees with questions regarding the 1 structure of the Nym company and 2 what kind of information do the gateways and mixnodes see. I recently updated the NymVPN presentation slides to discuss the zk-credentials more (As we had questions from previous meetups around this topic). Along with the presentation, we played the Noise Generating Mixnet video. I opened the privacy meetup with the NymVPN presentation.
There were also tables with merch, & swag available for all attendees. There were some other guest presentations as well including Cake Wallet by TuxSudo and Robosats by BTCwrestle. After the event, a large group chatted and ate some local Charlotte cuisine.
