NymX v0.1.1 released

Dear Nym community,

I have released NymX, so that the community can exchange data, globally and decentralized, via the Nym Mixnet. As the Nym Mixnet is (currently) not designed to handle very large files, it is highly recommended to split up files in small parts, like 50MiB each, prior sending them! For that you can use sam.

Hope you like!

Best regards

Worth to mention, the .json file can contain UTF-8 characters for aliases and the command line accepts it and also the folder where NymX is located can contain UTF-8 characters, like shown in this example:

{
“aliases”: {
“alice”: “FtPMKDp56XmGVLijNLxNPX3ssycYMKVamQk6oQBbmRU5.HnPreTcML71nSWSH1e9P7XRxmQwnnP6dYZgSQAtu4p7n@3hm1cwHi3t6KLnj2N8iRqd1iJQ59EoP5AjWpZHiQK1qf”,
“Стефан”: “4nz3ottUd7LZXfkd5Wta6yCYzs9WcBGCWbroiojSKrKJ.7Fgur3WA5eqUKTBsMX79TZGwq3ajvNEqjUbZnwsbHnzM@DuMkz6bVpKnZnbWf5DYtKHFhaLUUzB4vNSqdoiVR4j8X”
}
}

P.S.: Unlike the official “nym-socks5-client” or the official “nym-client”, you can run multiple instances of NymX to send individual parts using each instance, allowing very large files to be transferred more quickly.

NymX (Nym eXchange) is the new name of NymTransfer to not conflict with the authors of the other NymTransfer project.

‘get’, a little utility for NymX users, using a VPS server for receiving files. It does not use the Nym Mixnet and is super fast with ssh usage. It automatically deletes received files from the remote host. Will be released later.

‘get’ released. Please note, when running NymX on a VPS in a nymx user $HOME directory you have to rename nymx to NymX, for example.

First official NymX instance, from me, is running on a VPS. :blush::heart::wink::man_detective: You get the information at my website oc2mx.net under ‘About…Contact’. Feel free to send me a message or if you like NymX in general leave an entry in my Guestbook. I think with NymX a modern communication alternative has become reality, compared to old RFCs, smtp(s) and ftp(s), domain names etc.

Hope you enjoy NymX as well and please spread the news about free of charge NymX usage, to help spreading the usefulness of the Nym Mixnet, thanks to nym.com and it’s great team.

Maybe, just maybe, I will implement SURB usage for NymX at a later date.

NymX v0.1.2 released. A -g (get) parameter was added so that people can download their files from a remote server, like a Tor Hidden Service.

Enjoy!

NymX is ideally suited for journalists, whistle blowers and activists, because it runs nicely on Tails.
