On June 22, 2024, an offline event was held in Kyiv to popularize the topic of privacy among IT professionals, which was very appropriate because at that time there was an ETH Hackathon (even Vitalik Buterin himself got acquainted with our technology) and to show in practice how you can track your traffic through a regular router and how NYM technology will mix and encrypt it.
We received 100 registrations for the event, but in fact there were about 30 people (the rest followed Vitalik Buterin), and this did not prevent us from explaining the essence of the technology to interested participants.
The topics of the presentations were as follows:
Harry Halpin (CEO NYM) - told about the essence of the technology and why the topic of privacy is important (It was very interesting and visual)
Beyond (member of the RawBox and BeyondDAO squads) - tested NYM VPN among the audience and provided access to the participants so that they could test and provide us with feedback on the application
Yana Matrosova (member of the main team + member of the RawBox squad) - walked through the NSL program and how the community can receive grants or compensation for their contribution to the development of the NYM ecosystem and the topic of privacy in the region in general
Oleksandr Kyrii aka oleksky (member of the RawBox squad) - connected the participants to his router to show them what your provider sees about you, up to the notification of an iPhone operating system update or a text message to your mother. It’s a powerful and visual presentation of NYM VPN.
Oleksandr Kovalenko aka crptcpchk (member of the RawBox squad) - held a workshop on installing NYM Node and Exitgateaway, he wrote his own guide for our community for easier installation and showed how to do it quickly at home.
During the event, we activated 30 NYM VPN invites and conducted tests with the community, distributed a lot of merchandise and increased our audience who will be talking about privacy.
