I request the inclusion of TCP port 30443 in the Nym Exit Policy.

Currently, I am unable to use the VMOS Cloud web platform while connected to the Nym network (fast mode / 2-node setup). The service relies on this specific custom port to establish a persistent WebSocket connection () for video streaming and device control.

Thanks for your question! The process usually takes a few steps before a port can be added.

First, we collect the requested port details from VPN users and prepare a Nym Improvement Proposal (NIP) for example, NIP-13 based on the request. The NIP is then shared on the forum for discussion and, on the following day, submitted to Governance for example, this proposal where node operators vote on it. The governance voting process typically takes around 5–7 days.

If the proposal passes the vote, we add the port to the exit policy. Operators then update their nodes to enable the newly approved port.

So, assuming there are no issues or delays, the expected timeline is:

  • 27 July (Monday): The NIP will be shared on the forum for discussion.
  • 28 July (Tuesday): The proposal will be submitted to Governance for voting.
  • 4 August: The governance vote is expected to conclude.
  • Around 6 August: The approved ports should become active, once the exit policy is updated and operators have updated their nodes.

Please note that this timeline is indicative and may change if any issues arise during the proposal, voting, or rollout process.
