What transport protocol does the NymVPN client (nym-vpnc) use in mixnet mode?
Are any traffic obfuscation methods used in this case?

hey so sorry for not getting back on this: mixnet mode uses Web Socket. for obfuscation, NymVPN uses a variety of techniques: generating cover traffic a.k.a ‘noise’, artificial timing delays, mixing and sphinx packet encryption. you can read more about it in the litepaper: NymVPN litepaper
