NYM disconnects when I leave my computer idle for a while

Whenever I leave my computer (Windows 11) idle for a while, when I come back I find that NYM is disconnected with a message saying it failed to connect after several attempts. This is frustrating as it means that any emails, etc that come through are blocked. I have to manually disconnect then connect before NYM is back up and running. This happens all the time. Is it just me, or is there a fix out there? Thanks.

So far I’ve had that too. Sometimes it will stay connected for days, other times keep disconnecting. It also has to do with the servers one connects to, some are more stable than others. Nym is still relatively new, and it is also a feature of decentralization - it has many pros, but also some cons.

What I would really like to see is a feature that lets you specify fallback servers in advance - so if this happens the nym client should just start connecting to the next server in the fallback list until it manages to connect.

Shouldn’t be too difficult to implement, it’s only a loop on the frontend, not sure why it hasn’t been implemented already.

Glad to hear that I’m not alone. The thing is that this only happens on my laptop. Doesn’t happen on my phone (iPhone) and I have NYM running all the time.

Could you report this with logs at support.nym.com or send them to me? Do you have any performance settings enabled; are you using a laptop?

Will do. How do I send them to you directly?
