🗓️ Nym Community Call #2602 [IDEAS THREAD] – January 22, 2026

Hello everyone, as you may have seen last Thursday, one of my new year resolutions for 2026 is that:

I am bringing back Nym community calls this year and doubling down on them.

I barely get to hang out with you anymore and I’ve been missing my beautiful community a lot <3

The format is changing, and will continue to evolve as we go. I want to keep it fresh, fun and interesting. I will create a discussion thread like this one every week to:

  • discuss segment ideas, scheduling, guests
  • collect interesting privacy news items from the week, preferably with a global scope but anything works!
  • come up with games, activities together
  • get video backgrounds from you (don’t do me dirty tho :folded_hands:)

… And anything else.

Share your ideas, shower thoughts, memes, news, questions, games here! Let’s discuss.

It’s not very fun but might come under the questions description; something like ‘best ways of using NymVPN’ i.e. I’m a newbie using the VPN for the first time and was immediately confronted with the question ‘What are the best entry and exit locations?’. Maybe there are no best, better and worse locations, but nonetheless I was doing a little research prior to using the VPN for the first time.

There seems to be an article about this on Nym Blog, but I think it would also be appropriate to mention it on the stream.

This is a great idea! I’ll pull together some best practices for the call tomorrow. There is a surprising amount of hidden depth to this question by the way, I’ll see how much of that I can cover this week  Thank you for the suggestion!

Thank you for describing in the latest community call some considerations for server location choice as a newbie. It has changed the way I now use the VPN never having considered:

  1. Proximity of entry to current location and it’s affect on performance
  2. Proximity of entry and exit to each other and to current location likewise to performance
  3. That ‘Exit’ is also the visible location to apps and websites being used

I had also been making individual server choices (uninformed simply on the basis of the speed bars) not knowing that selecting the country only would default to the apps chosen server.

Many thanks and looking forward to the next call.
