Hello, I can’t seem to connect to the VPN anymore on Linux or Android. On Linux, when I try to connect, I get this message: Internal error - Account API failure: SYNCING_STATE failed to get account summary with device
When trying to connect on Android, I get an “api failure” message.
Right now, I’m more concerned about the Linux machine not working. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
Hey @eaglesavage, are you still seeing this issue? We recommend attempting to connect using a different network too. If you can send logs + more details on the steps you’ve tried so far, we can investigate further: https://support.nym.com/hc/en-us/requests/new
Make sure the time is synced on the device you’re using as NymVPN uses it for replay protection.
I’ve tried making sure I’m signed in of course because it asks me when I click on the account in my settings. I sign in on the browser just fine it seems, but I get the error message in the app:
(An unexpected error occurred: Account API failure:
SYNCING_STATE failed to get account summary with device)
I’ve tried connecting to different servers, force stopping the app, clearing the app cache, and I also made sure it was up to date by downloading the latest apk version 2.6.0 from the NYM website.
I can tell you that this started happening while I was on a trip where I traveled across timezones. You guys said to make sure my time was synced or something but I have no idea how to go about that.
Avoid putting logs in public channels. If time isn’t set to sync automatically or set correctly it causes errors like this. We have a guide on this topic, can you check your Date & Time settings as suggested here? https://nymtechnologiessa.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/41476175098129
Yes, I’ve now done what that says to do and everything checks out okay. The VPN still doesn’t work on my phone or cpu, but I’ve opened up a ticket for each one and shared the logs now, so I guess it’s just a waiting game now. Thank you for your help.
