Who participated?
Hack in Rio is a cybersecurity community in Rio de Janeiro, with 270 members in the Telegram group.
At the meetup, we had more than 100 registrants, with 65 people attending in person + online streaming.
Most of the audience works or studies in cybersecurity.
Nymja psydenst gave a lecture on Nym Deck and also promoted NymVPN and the delegation program.
In addition to psydenst’s talk, cybersec experts Heitor Gouveia and Sabrina Ramos also gave lectures on SAST and Thread Intelligence, respectively.
The event was sponsored by Universidade Veiga de Almeida (UVA) and Opsteam (Cloud Service Company).
What was the reaction of the audience?
The public was very interested, many people joined the Telegram community and some people became interested in operating nodes and using the VPN. We chat a lot with them in the coffe break.
Is this a regular event?
Yes, the make around 2-4 meet-ups per year. Now that they have sponsorship, the tendency is to do more.
How do you plan to follow-up with this audience?
By being present at more of their events and also in the cybersecurity ecosystem in Rio. We are building bridges between the two communities and there is already a very good synergy between Nym-Tupinymquim and Hack in Rio.
How did the activity help Nym community grow?
40 members joined Telegram and followed us on social media. We also found people interested in climbing nodes + many VPN users at the event. We did a good job on promoting NymVPN.

It was a very fruitful event, consolidating our network of friendship in cybersec field within Rio de Janeiro.
It was a rich exchange of knowledge and we were very happy to be there
