Name: Bikram Biswas
Connection to Nym & Background:
I have been involved with the Nym project since 2023, actively advocating for privacy rights and decentralized technologies. Over the years, I have contributed to various blockchain and Web3 initiatives, but my core passion lies in fighting censorship, exposing surveillance tactics, and educating people about why privacy is a fundamental right—not a privilege or a crime. However, my contributions go beyond just writing. I engage with communities, spark discussions, and challenge mainstream narratives that attempt to normalize mass surveillance and censorship.
Why I Want to Participate
Privacy is under attack. Governments, corporations, and centralized entities work tirelessly to monitor, control, and restrict information. Their tools? Surveillance, propaganda, and censorship. They create the illusion that privacy is dangerous—convincing the public that only criminals need anonymity. This is a lie.
I want to dedicate my time to exposing these manipulations and advocating for true digital freedom. I have already contributed as much as possible on my own, but sustaining this fight requires resources. Like everyone else, I have responsibilities—family, daily life, and financial needs. If I can secure support through the Nym Writing Programme, I can focus full-time on producing high-quality, impactful content that educates, empowers, and mobilizes people to take back their privacy.

Topics I’m Most Interested In Writing About
I don’t just want to write about privacy tools—I want to attack the root cause of the problem. My writing will focus on:
The truth about mass surveillance – How governments and corporations manipulate people into accepting constant tracking.
Censorship and propaganda – How powerful entities silence activists, journalists, and privacy advocates to control the narrative.
Privacy activism & unsung heroes – Highlighting the work of activists who fight for digital rights but remain invisible due to censorship.
The real reason governments fear privacy – Corruption is the core issue. I want to expose how privacy threatens the power structures of the elite.
Why privacy is NOT a crime – Breaking the myth that only criminals need privacy and showing why it’s essential for everyone.
Why traditional VPNs are flawed – Educating people about VPN metadata leaks and why decentralized mixnets like NymVPN are the future.
My Vision
I want to do more than just write—I want to be a voice for those who are silenced. The internet was supposed to be a space for free thought, open discussion, and unrestricted knowledge. But over time, it has become a battlefield where censorship and misinformation block people from seeing the full picture.
My goal is to break these roadblocks, show people the other side of the story, and fight back against the growing surveillance state. I believe Nym is one of the most important projects in this battle, and I want to contribute to its mission in the most impactful way possible.
Final Thoughts
I hope the Nym team recognizes my commitment, hard work, and dedication to the cause. If given the opportunity, I will continue to push for a world where privacy is the default, not a luxury.
Looking forward to your feedback and hoping to join the fight with Nym!
