On September 8th I gave an online talk for the NicaSecurity Community, they are a cybersecurity community based in Nicaragua, with members from across Latam; It is a community dedicated to promoting knowledge and collaboration in cybersecurity. They focus on strengthening the capabilities of members and partners through training, basic digital security services, and awareness-raising activities to build a more secure and resilient digital environment.
The lecture lasted around 1 hour 30. I started by talking about privacy, why it is important, what data do companies collect, I addressed the topic of information protection systems and explained why E2EE is no longer enough.
I introduced Nym team
I talked about mixnets, its origin, Nym’s NGM, how it works, …
I connect to NymVPN mixnet mode, so they can see the easy process and how they can choose among different servers
I also did a live demo of the Noise visualizer, so they could appreciate the difference with and without NymVPN
I also did a quiz related to the topic and awarded 3 NymVPN licenses to 3 attendees.
